A luxurious and exceptional hotel in Allendale with exceptionally polite staff on our request. Outstanding food in the bar for breakfast for the hard crispy bacon which was returned.

Our room was not only themed, but also unique with castle view, ample sofas, tapestries galore. Quiet and spectacular location - a short walk to everywhere we needed. It had welcoming restaurant for dinner.

The rooms were themed and nicely decorated, with separate bathroom.

Gorgeous remote location very close to a castle, rich in history, grounds beautiful, accommodation great, food fantastic, staff helpful and friendly, the establishment, and the various museums and excavations of Hadrian's Wall.

Marvellous location in an actual medieval castle in 2019, you can walk everywhere. The breakfasts are reasonably good with a great selection of options.

It has perfect and excellent location to Kielder observatory. It has hard-working, competent staff. The rooms are a nice size and have fantastic views of the castle.

Superbly friendly and outstandingly accommodating staff, breakfasts were enjoyable.

The room was fashionable and unique, included an iron with ironing board, coffee/tea making equipment, and a work desk. This accommodation was in the remote location in the actual castle.

Luxurious, clean place with very attentive staff with impeccable service. Themed and tastefully decorated rooms, great view to the castle. Big beds, enjoyable breakfast. Wonderful, incredible location in Allendale, next to castle, Good to sea Hadrians Wall, and Newcastle and Hadrian's Wall.

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the spacious courtyard rooms and the peaceful ambiance of the surroundings. The peafowl and swallows added to the wow factor. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The beds were super comfortable and the fine dining experience was outstanding, especially the phenomenal 'after 8' dessert.

Felt welcomed into the family, no complaints whatsoever.

The room was neat by cushions with torn covers, the staff were professional. It had quiet and picturesque location, adjacent to a castle, the restaurant and haydon bridge.

This place is a luxurious hotel in a stunning location, surrounded by beautiful areas and close to popular attractions such as Hexham, Durham, and Newcastle. The staff here are attentive and the hotel itself is top-class.

Exceptional place! Stylish room in castle view, and peaceful and fab location. Generally very good service with parking onsite. Everything fine. The restaurant was really nice, for dinner. Honestly nothing to complain about.
